After Thoughts: SOMA Studio Tour at the 1978 Art Gallery
Although the weekend was brief compared to the preparation, it was a wonderful showcase of art. There were 6 artists: Jennifer Malone, Samar Hussaini, Manman Huang, Burt Solomon, Luis Alves and myself. Jennifer, Samar and Manman are three amazing painters. Burt had many dynamic black & white photographs from years of travel and exploration. Luis’s social, political and pop-culture collages drew lots of attention and conversation. I enjoyed meeting friends, new and old. The comments and reactions to my work are always interesting and sometimes surprising. My work is mostly on paper, watercolor, colored pencil and inks with acrylic for my abstracts. I enjoyed the questions and comments. They inspire me to make more art!
The image below shows the entry into the gallery on the far left. In the middle I am on the left, then Jennifer Malone, Manman Huang, Samar Hussaini, Burt Solomon and kneeling up front is the infamous Luis Alves! The far right image I am chatting with visitors.
Thanks to all who visited! It means a lot.
